Staff at eakin were delighted to welcome the visitors, who travelled from France to attend an eakin presentation and workshop.

During their visit they also learnt the history of eakin, received more training about our products including our new eakin dot 2-piece and had an opportunity to tour the factory.

Olivier Montels, Development Manager of eakin in France: “It’s important for Health professionals to know more about us, our values and our products to understand fully the commitment of our teams to create and fabricate eakin products. We are even more pleased that this was the first visit of French ET nurses.”

Eakin will also be present at the AFET days – which is the French National Congress of ET nurses – happening in Lyon from the 8th to the 12th of October.

We thank all our visitors for taking the time to visit us and we look forward to welcoming them again in the future.

New route to market for Ireland

Posted on

Exciting changes have recently developed in our business model for Ireland.

We are now trading directly in the market. We have Georgina McKeown and Susan Carberry, on the ground in Ireland directly promoting EAKIN to nurses and patients. This means we can understand and respond to nurses and patients’ needs better and faster.

Due to austerity measures, there have been no new Stoma products listed in Ireland for the past 8 years, BUT this is all about to change. It could be from as early as 1st
June, subject to the HSE go ahead, that many more of our products will be immediately available in Ireland. This will make a substantial difference to the quality of life for many Ostomists in Ireland.

Eakin Holdings Ltd, has been named as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ companies in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme for the fourth year in a row.

Eakin Holdings Ltd, the parent company of TG Eakin Ltd, Pelican Healthcare Ltd and Pelican Feminine Healthcare Ltd, has been named as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ companies in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme for the fourth year in a row. Companies that have been recognised as a Best Managed Company for four years running were awarded with a special ‘gold standard’ accolade. In total just 14 companies throughout Ireland were designated with the gold standard this year.

The Best Managed Companies Awards Programme, in association with Irish Life Corporate Business, recognises indigenous Irish companies across the island of Ireland which are operating at the highest
levels of business performance. As well as looking at the overall success of the company, the awards process considers the management strength, ability to innovate, strategic initiatives and financial performance so is the only awards programme that considers a business’ performance from every perspective.

Speaking at the gala awards dinner on 1 March 2013 Brendan Jennings, Managing Partner, Deloitte and judging panel member commented: “This year’s Best Managed Companies represent the best of innovation, creativity, dynamism, tenacity and excellence in the indigenous sector. Deloitte is proud to celebrate their success and potential. These awards acknowledge their hard work and commitment and we are delighted to showcase their achievements.”

Commenting on the award Jeremy Eakin, Managing Director of TG Eakin Ltd, said: “To be recognised at this level for 4 years in succession is an absolute honour. Everyone at Eakin works extremely hard to produce a first class product and also deliver a first class service to our customers so our success is down to all members of staff, not just the management team. We are currently undergoing a large extension which will double the size of our manufacturing space in Comber, Co. Down so we hope to build on our success in the years ahead.”
